Holy crap! that is amazing! That would be almost perfect... the only problem with that is that i would end up having to pay someone big bucks to make that for me as i have absolutly no fabrication skill or even the tools or the knowledge to do so. wow... if there was some way to get that made...
the other thing i thought of is, has anyone used the Bazooka tube subs? i dont think theyre that big, and i might be able to mount one in some obscure place... although, that would be bigger than the setup already mentioned i think.
ah lol... one other one, i saw on ebay a Bose low profile sub that came factory on some luxury car (they took it off and are sellign it). would something like that be able to be mounted... under the rear or the passenger seats?

I think i found the answer... Clarion SRV303 thanks to everyone who suggested responces, and any additional suggestions are welcome. I do like that custom housing in the trunk but buying a simple unit like this that could go under the seat or something jsut makes more sense in my application. I wont be doing this for quite some time as money is an issue right now and there are more important things that my car needs (remote, 2nd key, new front grille, rear speakers, etc...) Thanks!

Ilooked at that one along time ago. I think the infinity setup is a little better since you get alarger subwoffer. Definitely let us know how it sounds.

PLEASE do not buy that thing. I have heard it, and it is awful. You are much better off getting a BassLink, or even the Kenwood unit. The powered Bazookas are a nice alternative, as well, and really don't take up too much space. That Clarion WILL let you down, as it has so many people you have purchased it from Crutchfield already.

Thats what I just put in. Sounds good... The woofer is a dayton 6.5" driver from parts express. The only thing it really needs is a larger Xmax. A stiffer suspension would be nice for this application. Although they do sound absolutely amazing in a tuned box... I'm debating on whether to get the 4-ohm version of that driver or the tang band 6.5" "subwoofer" The tang band has an awesome Xmax at 11.5mm... But isn't very sensitive either, at only 83db.

so how much would you charge to make a pair of those in 10" uncarpeted? (one for both corners of the trunk)

I had it done by a local car audio shop in RI. I had it done at Tweeter, but there are only two Tweeter locations I would send my car to, so I dont know how much that helps you. I dont know If I would trust any tweeter to do this right. I can have them quote me a price and use my car as a test fit. It cost around $600 for them to build the box, amp rack, new floor, recarpet the whole trunk, and install the amp and cap. PM me if you are interested. I would get a price from them, they would build it, and I would ship it to you.

randy, i'll have to check out your setup next time at a meet. have u had any issues with rain dripping in when u open the trunk? i always have water drip in right where your sub is for both corners so i've avoided putting any electronic equipment in those spots.
