I have the SkiFi2... ultimate Electronics (before they started closing stores) offered a free home boom box for a week with a skufi2 purchase.. so I bought 2 car kits ($50 ea) the Skifi2 (on sale $70) & got the boom bos free ($100 normally)... the regualt "house kit" to hook up to your home stereo is the same $50 as a car kit. the boom box is portable (with antenna) & I just run a jack from the boom box to my 5.1 receiver & the antenna is out ont he back side fo the house..

In the CSVT the antenna is dead center on the roof centered above the rear view mirror.. small, discreet.. looks fine.

If you ahve access to the area under the plastic cowl panel (iunder the wipers) reception there is good. any time you try to read Sat signal through glass or metal you are fighting a loosing battle.

On the technology: it is NOT using Cell towers or any land based transmission system... hmm. "S-A-T-E-L-I-T-E" Radio.... you know those metal things swinging around the earth at mach whatever?... come-on.. logic...

Last thought: Sirus vs Xm... If you want 15 versions of Hip hop, rock, or jazz, & like the over-processed sound of FM (just CD quality) get Sirus. If you want puresound quality, more diversity, & more talk-news-sports-playboy.. get XM... I have both in my truck.. I rare listen to Sirius any more.. I am constantly adjusting the sound with the EQ to deal with Sirius... just my .02
