hey all..
I've got a 98.5 SE Sport... ATX.
I had the tranny rebuilt about a year ago, and i recently took it on a road trip. After cruising about about 60mph for just over an hour, i slowed down for construction and could smell tranny fluid. as i was moving my car into a parking lot to check it out it shifted from first to second, and HARD. there was a pause, then a bang and the whole car jerked forward.
Now this never happens while driving in town, stop and go traffic is fine, but highway driving it seems to do it after some time at driving 55mph+. after checking under the hood i noticed there was tranny fluid under the battery holder and also covering the top of the tranny. i couldn't see where it was coming from as i'd have to be looking under the hood while driving pretty quick.
Any ideas? If i let the car sit for 15 minutes to half an hour and cool down it's fine again for another hour or so, but this makes highway driving an issue...
Any help would really be appreciated,
Thanks!
