Your paint may have faded though and not faded behind the stripe...It probably won't be too noticeble on your color of a car....Try just peeling them off starting with your nails. You can also heat them with a heat gun or the wif's hot a** blow dryer. To clean up all the sticky stuff use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover available from any body and paint shops or Napa! Lots of elbow grease.
