Justin it's actually pretty straight forward. get something under the guard to cut the adhesive a little ways in from the edge of the guard, I used 10lb fishing line, once you have that done just get a finger under it and pull it off slowly. I didn't use anything to soak the adhesive just worked it off slowly with my fingers then cleaned off the residue and polished the area and that's all there was to it.
