Here in Atlanta there are no speed limits.

There are signs, but they don't really hold any authority. I regularly drive by, next to, behind, in front of cops doing 20-30 over the posted speed limit, as does the rest of the trafffic.

This is true I was following an Audi doing 30 over in the carpool lane and passed a cop, I could almost swear he waved. The only time I have ever been pulled over in GA was for noise ordinance violations, never go a ticket though. In AL I have been pulled over several times and the troopers here will tell you that they give you 7 MPH. I've had 2 tickets one was unfair 65 in a 35. The other was 113 in a 55, I deserved that ticket b/c I had gotton a little carried away on a wide open stretch of highway. The point is that I have never had an accident, Other than a couple of deers I took out. People you are all right in the fact that speed doesn't kill its the people that don't know how to drive and panic everytime a squirrel crosses the pavement, like my wife! I'm not knocking women drivers either. The DMV is not gonna spend much needed time actually teaching these kids how to drive, they would much rather hand out tickets and pick them up off the street to keep their money coming in.
When I was growing up my dad would go out and buy any old POS he could find, drag it home and me ,my brother, and my sister would get it running, with some help, and we drove it till the wheels fell off. If you cut an 8,9,& 12 year old loose in a car on this long dirt road, they'll learn how to drive!
When my kids get older I plan on taking them up to the country and showing them how to really drive, If you cut them loose and let them get all of that out of their system, you'll have a much safer driver. JMO!

Ummmm...wow Incredible
