When NM raised the speed limit on our 3 interstates to 75, accident rates DROPPED on I-40 and I-10 which carry a lot of traffic and went up a bit on I-25 which carries far less traffic. While the media hyped the increase on 25, the state highway department called the findings largely inconclusive.
