b. it is also understood that once you are singled out from the pack and pulled over, it's a discretion of the officer how to punish you. that's not called law enforcement. THAT'S TRUE !

c. oh and BTW, current speed limit is based on the characteristics of cars built in 50's assuming adverse conditions such as wet pavement. This is also True ! The laws were written for maxiumum fuel efficiency, not safety, IIRC.

I was given a ticket a few weeks ago. I was in the center lane on a large freeway, behind other cars going down a hill. I wasn't weaving, I wasn't passing on the right, I wasn't going obviously faster than anyone else... Written for going 10 over, and he acted like he was doing me a favor; I wasn't going that much faster than that anyway. He also proceeded to tell me the steps to get this ticket wiped off my record. I was THIS close to asking him why he was bothering to write the ticket then.

The way it is all up to the officer's discretion is not fair. I almost asked him why he was picking on me, the 7 year old Contour, not the large SUV I was behind, or the Corvette that was in the left hand lane.

Sucks. But I'm stubborn enough to go through those steps and get the ticket wiped from my good record. I already went and paid for a certified copy of my CLEAN driving record. Now I just have to show up at the Traffic Tribunal. There are a clear set of rules for getting it wiped from your record, including mph over, status of your record, showing up on a certain date and time... Silly.
