I'm just not a drag guy. You can't auto-x or road race with a bottle. It's a cool technology, but I don't like nitrous because it's not sustainable. I personally don't enjoy drag racing enough to build a car that is best at going in a straight line. The "cheating" comment was a little tounge-in-cheek; mostly to get a rouse out of you, but I stand by it. You can build up a car to operate at it's maximum cylinder pressure with a F/I system that gives you N20 performance levels all the time. Nitrous is cheap and easy, but I'd never do a mod that is so limited, and clearly inferior to a (more expensive) F/I system.

On the other hand, the peakiness afforded by most F/I makes a car very difficult to transition in a situation where you have 100% tire load all the time, so I could rant about that too...

....i dont think it entirely true..with a cheap nitrous setup, yeah auto-x or roadracing might be hard..but with a setup with a window swith were you can set it up to come on at a certain rpm,not just WOT...or am i wrong

It doesn't matter when it comes on, it's highly non-linear which means un-settling of the car in the corners. People who road race don't use nitrous.

I do neither auto-x or road racing. I go to the track a few times a year, but nothing serious. I really only use it when "testing," how shall I say this.... HP/Weight ratios with other cars

0-100 in 13 secs???

Are you serious?

A 425 hp Chrysler 300C SRT-8 will do it in 13.2 sec @ 109 mph.
A 2006 BMW 330i will do 0-100 in 14.3 sec @ 98 mph and that's rear drive.

What have you got under yer hood and how do you put the power down?

13 seconds is a conservative estimate based on G-Tech guesstimates and 1/4 mile times.

The 1/4 mile states 102mph in under 13.5 seconds and we all know that's an average over the last 100' and at the final lights your are traveling faster then the estimate.

As for your comparison. The SRT-8 weighs over 4200lbs I beat that by well over 1000lbs! It's a fuggin' pig of a boat to put it bluntly! They should put that engine (with a MANUAL! ) in a real car and not a sofa of wheels!
