You Officially SUCK!

I soooooo badly want an S60 R. That blue with the odd brown interior. Those gauges, the comfort of those seats. And above all BOOST!! Yupp, you suck.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that car run you with the Z-plan. Thats the exact plan I can get since my Grandfather was retired from Ford. What options does it have? You can PM me if you don't want to post it here.

Congrats!

Volvos are pretty sweet cars. My dad drove his 850 more than 250,000 miles before it finally gave up. The seats were the most comfortable car seats I ever sat on. Have fun with your new toy.

Technically speaking, with a turbo, I blow

The car I got came with the performance package, touring package, comfort package, and the Sirius setup. It stickered at 43.4K and with the Z plan, it was knocked down to 40K. (there doesn't seem to be much discount when it comes to Volvos) The 4K rebate brought me down to 36K. I wish I had time to privately sell the tour. With some bad looks going back and forth across the table, I could only squeeze 5.5K for my car. In all honesty, they knew they had me.

I hope this car serves me well. I'm not keen on all the electronics and the software involved that I can't control. There's software for engine management, the Haldex AWD system, and the active suspension among others. We'll see how it all holds up. I've been spoiled by the tweecer unfortunately.

I was reading about that active suspension system... how does that affect the aftermarket for suspension on those cars (from what I've read though, i doubt you'll need it).

Let me just say that at this point, I'd rather have the feel that I had with the BAT suspension on my tour rather than the 4C stuff. The comfort setting is fine on bumpy bad roads (with the exception of the rear end getting jittery as the 4C system tries to compensate when hitting bumps). The other two settings just to make me feel connected to the road as much as the tour did. Maybe as I "exercise" the suspension more, I might change my mind. People that have changed the springs and pulled the 4C fuse feel that the car should have come from the factory that way.

That's my preliminary 2 cents on the suspension.

What forums are you "consulting" for stuff? The few I have found don't have very good traffic or don't have a S60R specific forum.

I assume you have see/ heard of www.evolvecars.com I love their cars! The blue S60 was my desktop for quite some time.

Do you have to change the springs to benefit from pulling the fuse on teh active susp? What happens when you pull the fuse?

I usually hang around "R" forum on swedespeed.com. I've been spending alot of time lately with the search forum.

I think (but not 100% sure without going back to the forums) that pulling the 4C fuse just prevents the suspension from making contant adjustments. I'm not sure if that prevents the 3 choices of strut valving from working.

People have found that pulling the 4C fuse prevents the rear from being squirrely when hitting bumps. Volvo's fix has been to replace rear suspension bushing with stiffer ones but it doesn't seem to help some people. It looks like it may be dependant on 4C software load.

I love the Evolve body kit too but I won't touch it due to ground clearance issues. Check out svenskeracing.com to see what kind of power packages they have.

my stepdad works for volvo and let me take one of those out one day. i broke it dropped the clutch at a light and didnt realize the traction control was on, shook the sh*T outta the car and apparently broke the gear selector for reverse...that clutch is way too chunky IMO but a very badass car otherwise. are you going to "see europe by volvo"? i just got back from the factory in sweden picking a car up for my stepdad and thats the way to do it if you got time
