Tranny noises, eh? I wonder what that could be? Truth be told, I don't think Harry was an especially spirited driver, but he was not the only owner, and these cars are fun to push out near the limit. Problem with that is, I don't think the clutch and the tranny on these cars are strong enough to handle the performance provided by other components, e.g., motor, suspension and tires.
Mine has almost 103,000kms on it now, and the tranny is still smooth and quiet (except for the wintertime stiffness getting the lever into first and reverse that's common to them all).
