Hmm, could just carry it upstairs out the sliding doors...but that would be a huge PITA. Originally posted by SVT PETE: Originally posted by RTStabler51: ....with that said, I need to measure the width of the door to get a motor in/out of the house, which I'll do this evening.

Ooopse, I mean't wife. If she knew I called her wide, again, she would kill me. J/K
RT- I'm thinking about just rebuilding my 2.5 and reusing just about everything within reason I guess. I just don't know the condition of the cylinder sleeves because I know the rings are shot, so I'm pretty sure the walls of the cylinders are scored and will need to be honed. This is what I'm afraid of because it will definately delay the build if this is the case. I do know of one shop in the area I'm sure can do everything, but they are pretty expensive. It's called Springfield Motorsports. I have had the car there 2x and they do good work, but I kind of feel sore in the butt after I pay up. But you get what you pay for and they do good work and pretty fast.

Eek, I haven't heard anything good about them. I emailed them about my car when it went and they didn't want to touch it.....

Really. I have had good experience with them. They do shy away from contours, but I was really persistent. I also happened to catch them when they were really slow and the guy even told me they only do the Mustangs when they are busy.
I am so on the fence about doing the 2.5. If I could make a 3.0 hybrid work relatively easy, I would do it. My biggest issues would be blocking the oil (?) passages, water pump issues and not having 3.0 valves in the 2.5 heads. If it is pretty straight forward, I would just do the 3.0 hybrid, and it would be cheaper since I would not need to get into the bottom half of the motor unless I wanted Clevite bearings.
Please convince me the hybrid would be easy, because a full 3.0 would be a pain making the oval ports match the SVT LIM, UIM etc...

Don't make me slap you. Its a no brainer. If I can do it anyone can. Pluggin the oil return / water passages is simple and takes maybe 15 minutes. The other stuff can be done after the motor is buttoned up and ready to be installed. You don't need 3.0L valves. Y2KSVT put down 195fwhp with stock 2.5L heads (he is a 00 obviously though). And its more 'cost efficient'. I think I've actually gained some MPG too....not that I've driven my car recently though.
