It is 98 SVT with return fuel pump, I want to know how to pull out the fuel line, is it pull upward with the plastic like pulling the vaccum line on the intake manifold, or remove just the tube from the plastic connector?

That black plastic fuel line is connected to the plastic connector via heat-shrinking.. you will NOT get that off without ruining it.


The connectors would have to come out of the pump assembly itself.

Thanks Ray.. I will attemp to pull the whole plastic connector up with fuel line. I want to clean the socks and filter because problem developed under 1/4 tank.

One more question, is there any locking device or just tight fit?

spent whole afternoon trying to pull out the plastic connector from the pump. No luck to pull it out by force. I can not pull it out, please help.. any suggestion .. trick or tip?

I'm not sure, but I think that you need to push down on and hold the retaining ring while you are pulling up on the connector.

I gave up.

There may be more suggestions and past experience that works. Anyone worked on the same type of pump connection? I'll get back in there this weekend once the fuel level down to 1/8 of the tank.
