Thought:
Hey RAY , you should do us a favor and compose a handy dandy How-To on relocating the IMRC! orrr.. anyone else who'd like to compose one.
$253!!! Man, for $253 that sh*t better be gold plated.
Who the hell gave you that price?
Uhh.. you quoted me which says right next to the price. I also stated it was MORE THAN LIKLY a misunderstanding.
I know man, I saw that part. I was just joking around because obviously a mistake was made somewhere.

Eddie, IMRC may be the problem, but it could also be heat soak, which all cars with open element filters suffer from. As far as the situation you describe re; downshifting and passing on the freeway, what speed and RPM are you at? Did you know that 3rd gear will far exceed the legal limit?! Try that next time but be ready, READY, to shift into 4th right away. Give me a call, I'll be happy to take a look at it for you. Maybe you can drive my stock (for now) SVT for a comparo. NOTE: not my car anymore...subwoofers, shiftknob!
Chip? don't do it, unless you have it done by ADC.

And whatever you do dont buy a new imrc box untill you have tried relocating yours. Ive have had 2 box's that never work in the stock location. and since i relocated them they both have worked flawlessly. So RELOCATE. just ziptie it to the backside of the intake, see if that works. then you can get a more secure way of strapping it down later if that fixed the prob..

i relocated mine to under the maf...just make sure you attach it to something..otherwise when it goes to open the secondaries it'll pull itself forward...

It not only hapens in first but all the gears. Like lets say im on the high way and down shift to fourth to pass grandpa, there is just no power there, its like i should have just left it in fifth. But! i have found out that while waiting at a stop light if i shut down the car totally for like 4 to 6 seconds it has all of the horse power right back. My question is--- Is it a safty thing that the cpu doesnt allow you to do that in fear of over heating or blowing up the motor?? Because even if i drive very slow and for 10 mins so the car should be at a cool temp again it wont let me get the top end back. So i think but shuting off the car i am tricking the cpu. Would a chip solve the problem? Or do i have a bigger problem than expected. Thanks again for any advice. ------ what is a good website to order shift knobs because we have a specail device for reverse. Thanks again
I had the same problem on my 98SE, changed the fuel filter last Friday problem went away, runs great now.
