If the rear o2 sensors just measure the catalyst of the gases after the cats, will they make the car run odd if I have gutted the pre cats? I am getting a code that is saying bank 2 lean condition. So I was wondering if that is the problem or if one of my pre cat sensors are bad. I also am experiencing a slight studder in fourth gear with the RPM's around 1300 and doing about 35 miles per hour. Are these problems related or is there more things that I should look at? Thanks

Oh and I was also wanting to know if there is any way to shut off the rear sensors, without buying a chip and putting the MIL eliminators in.

to turn off the o2s you will need MILs OR a chip. one or the other. if you dont feel like springing for the MILs (the cheaper option) you can always make them yourself. there is a how to for that around here somewhere.

secondly, gutting the cats will make you throw another code (or your first one if you dont have a CEL already).

either way, you need to do something!

So if I get something to shut off the rear sensors then technically I shouldn't get a code for gutting the cats? Correct?

correct.


also, your lean condition code has nothing to do with the cats being gutted..
'only upstream sensors monitor fuel ratios

downstreams ONLY monitor cat efficiency.
