What is the darkest tint you can get? And who will do it for you?

from what i've heard (and seen on my friend's cars), most places will put on limo tint (5% and below) all the way around. It seems that they have an "understanding" with the local cops: As long as they do the work but can't be held accountable for thier customer's decisions, the cops keep writing tickets and making money  . In texas, and in most states though, 35% is the lowest legal tint (in texas, i know it is legal to have limo tint only on the back and top 5 inches of the windshield). I have 25% (according to the tint place) on the sides and limo on the back. I haven't gotten any attention from the cops, but it looks really dark!

Check your local laws. You could prob get away with 2% on the back if you can find some.

I haven't gotten any attention from the cops, but it looks really dark!You just need to check your local laws- you can put whatever you want on your windows wherever you want- just be ready to pay the price if you get pulled over (troopers around here are the only one's that write tickets for it). Many folks here in Texas pu tit on Dark, strip it on the front 2 windows to get state inspections, then pay 25-50 bucks to have it re tinted after having it inspected. last i checked in texas the only 2 that have a set limit is front driver and pax sides- back seat and rear have no limit. (just had the wife's car tinted and asked a cop buddy of mine)

racelogic, 35% is the legal darkest u can have on the front doors. i believe the rear doors and rear window can be anything u want it to be in CT. how do limo's get away w/ it?
what part of CT r u from? Pretty much any place that does tint will do whatever % u want, even if its illegal.

In Illinois where I go to school, legal tint is 30% all around. Any darker tint than legal you can only have your back windows tinted and not the fronts. In Colorado legal tint is 27%, which is slightly darker. I have 20% all around, which is pretty damn dark in the back, but the fronts look much lighter because of the light let in by the windsheild. Also, depending on the color of your interior; light interior like my grey leather makes my tint look lighter. Dark Navy blue leather like those in some SVTs makes the tint look darker.

I have 5% on the rear but I need a doc sig. to get the front tinted. 35 is max on frond sides go here for state laws. http://www.tintdude.com/

i have 5% on all the windows...and the tint was applied to both side of the window instead of just one
i've come across cops, but no problems yet *knock on wood*
