I know im a new ceg'er, and i have only been to 1 meet ( well, 2 small ones in one day actually) But i was wondering how many people would be interested in coming to my house for a meet. The dates im looking at are either Saturday July 16th or Friday September 16th. The reason i picked those dates are there is a neat car thing at Beechridge motor speedway those nights. I was thinking we could all meet at my house late morning or so and then around 5 or so head to the Portland area to Day Of Destruction. Its a pretty cool event. It starts out with drag racing, on an oval track. Very entertaining. Then demolition durby type events start. Backwards drags, backwards race, chain race, smoke show and i think sometimes even lawnmower races. They build em up with snomobile and motorcycle engines.

Anyway, im asuming that July would work best for people since its on a Saturday. My garage should be build by then if all goes smooth. Also once the event at beechridge is over we will be right near the highway for those of you who want to go home that night. Anyone who wants to stay could probly get a discounted room at the Marriott. My fiance is a manager there.

Let me know what you all think.

sounds like a pretty cool idea
Mike and I will have to check to be sure we don't have any family junk already planned those days, otherwise we'd be free for it.

Im in southern Maine. Pretty close to Ossipee NH actually. Ummm...I think it took me about 2 hours to get to exit 31 on 495 where i met up with goonz. Basically take 95 till Portsmouth and then hop on rt 16. Its pretty easy, ill post directions closer to the meet.

I'm never a guarantee to show at a meet, especially if it's further away than two towns over ... but out of the two days July 16 is definitely the better.
