What's the general opinion on the diehard? That's what we've used for years in my family, I sorta assumed they were the best, but I've never actually looked into it...

I got the Ford battery....installed was $100.00 Canadian.

Can't go wrong with that...and saves the hassle, too.

BTW, does the original battery come with a warmer?

Ummm, NO, dealership has the factory Motorcraft battery for $59.95, and a better battery for something like $79.95. Beats the price for a DieHard, and Motorcraft batteries are just as good as anybody elses'.

Actually the original equipment battery is the more expensive one. The less expensive one is the "value" battery.

Last time I checked, both DieHard and Motorcraft were made by the same vendor. Johnson Controls. Try a Google search on Johnson Controls Batteries and polk around a bit.

Over the years I've had Motorcraft, Wally mart special twice, and one Interstate - which lasted the longest of all of them. Motorcraft, the original lasted 12 months, Wally world ones lasted 12 to 14 months, Interstates last about 3 years. Tour #2 had 3 batteries over the years. One was a Sears (Exide) which lasted 8 months and had to be replaced under warranty. Sears switched back to JC which lasted longer. Heat here destroys batteries faster that when I lived in the GWN!

I've had one for 2.5 years, no issues...
