i have heard that if you use correct punctuation and grammar and not run-on sentences people will understand what you are saying do you know what i mean
But to try and answer your question, adding a lower temperature thermostat will not make your car run rich. It will make your car run cooler, as the fans will kick on earlier.

Coolant, thermostat, radiator... has nothing to do with whether te car runs lean or rich. And (obvious), the cooler a car runs, the better. 170 degree thermo will jus tallow the main cooling fans to kick on sooner, no damage done to the car.

actually it does. I don't remember the specifics but it has something to do with the EEC and closed / open loop IIRC....I'm sure Greg will chime in and explain it in detail. Mustang guys try to do this IIRC.... You can actually use a 160°F stat, which does let the ECU run more fuel AND more advance on the spark.

The colder T-Stat allows the cooling process to begin sooner - i.e. coolant flows sooner. The fans kick on whenever the PCM tells them to- which is preset. Altering the "on temp" requires a chip or an external fan switch to change the point at which the fans come on.

No, but what is your reason for wanting it? If you think you're gonna get a big boost in power - think again.

Trust me on this, you're wasting your time.
Unless you are making a LOT of hp and are getting more heat into the engine, like a turbo, supercharger, nitrous - you don't need it and won't see gains from it.
