The SVT TB IS a 3L TB. Just look at the back side of a SVT TB and you will see "3.0" stamped on it.
The difference though with the taurus TB is that we don't use the rectangular chnnel along the outside of te TB for diverting air around the butterfly to control idle.

So in short, you don't really want to use a Taurus TB on your SVT UIM. Either use our exisating SVT TBor you can go a step up to a 65mmGT Mustnag TB (from years 96-2000), but only if you have done a LOT of mods to support it, otherwise you will lose perfromance!

They look the same from the outside.

"What is 194.4bhp at mo" mean - you got 194.4hp at the motor? I'd like to see how that was come up with, without pulling the motor out ofr the car. We go by wheel hp artound here as it is more comparable to everyone esles car, as that is how 99.99% of people dyno there car anyway. What was the whp figure?

Not knowing for sure what car he has - I can only guess. He could have an ST200 or a regular V6. Now seeing he says he has no SVT parts; a) he either has a ST200 and doesn't realise that they SHARE the same engine as the US SVT, or b) he does have a reg. V6 - at which point I am calling a "BS Flag" on him pulling 194hp on a reg V6 with no SVT parts. Only car pulling those nubers without any SVT parts would be a full oval port 3L - but they aren't dynoing that high without SVT cams. So I reinstate my BS flag on his power output claim.

After all that folks still missed the whole point that the 3L TB is not a "Bolt-on" replacement just because the SVT TB has 3L stamped in the casing.

The SVT TB shares the same basic casting as the OLD 3L TB. (The new style 3L TB is a different casting!)
However beyond that nothing is the same. Different machining, different linkage, reverse operation, et cetera.

Please post your dyno sheets and mod list. A chip alone, even with race-gas will NOT get you that much at the wheels. There's is not one N/A car with a standard 2.5L (non-SVT) that has EVER come even close to that, and I have seen a LOT of dyno's (in person too). SVT's with intake, headers, exhaust dyno around 180-185whp.

BTW where are you, in Australia, or not?
EDIT: Are you from Dundee, Scotland?

194 bHP is roughly 156-160 FWHP.

That definitely seems a bit high for no SVT manifolds or TB but it's not crazy high on a custom tune using high octane.

Provided of course he has intake & exhaust mods done already.
