i think he means a 3" single. which is fine, no?
no, its not. 2.5" max. 2" for true duals. 3" is far too large for 99% of the people on this board.
I did mean 3" single, I saw a kit on the trubendz site. Why would 3" be too large? Just asking before I make a mistake.I'm working on a stock CSVT now, but I plan on being highly modded when I finish, but I only wanted to do the exhaust once, thats why I figured I'd do the 3".
3" is ONLY warranted if you're running forced induction, either Turbo or Supercharger, on a V6 Duratech either 2.5 or 3L. Putting that size exhaust on a N/A V6 or Zetec for that matter, is OVERKILL. The drop in velocity from that size exhaust will acutally DECREASE performance as the scavenging effect of fast moving exhaust gases will be all but irradicated. So if you want no torque and to sound like a truck go for it. But if your cramming air in there with a F/I device then it is definitely more a requirement - and NO Nitrous does not count as the aiflow increase even with nitrous is MINIMAL and does not justify a 3" exhaust. Nitrous only increases the CONCETRATION of O2 molecules in the intake is does not introduce more air to the intake in the proportions seen by turbos and superchargers.
