Hey dopey - I'm Christian too. I just don't believe in absolutely everything the church tells me.

Then again our priests are allowed to have sex - something that I believe is a good move.

Neither do I but I believe everthing my Bible tells me. If there were even one untruth in it then the whole thing would be tainted. I'm glad your priests can have sex, but can they outside of marriage?

What does being a Christian have to do with it? I'm a Republican, and I call other Republicans idiots quite often.

Exactly,

I'm a pretty conservative Christian and I think some of my Christian brothers are idiots.

I'm not prejudiced, I think all sorts of people are idiots, regardless of race, religion, sex or creed.

Ya, the forum was more or less a bunch of what appeared to be high school kids talking about how moralistic they were trying to be, but then telling everyone about falling down again and again and they were giving each other forgiveness and such. Strange to say the least. I tried searching for that post, but couldn't find it.

So, back to the main point of this whole glorious post, what does everything think should be done to improve the sexual disfunctions of our times? By disfunctions I'm talking mainly about the fact that we're bombarded by sexuality in the media, but yet afraid to teach our kids about it, and even worse, we don't even work on communicating properly about it when in relationships.

So if the bombardment of sexuality in the media is part of the dysfunction, do you think eliminating sex in the media will cure some of the dysfunction?

EDIT: I'm confused as to what you consider the dysfunction to be.

I think the context of premarital sex in the Bible doesn't apply today. Marriage of the time was normally around 13, thru parental mate choices. I was raised Catholic and do consider myself Christian but not religious.

The woman's movement has completely changed the functional and sexual rolls of men and women within a marriage. Some good, some bad, all different in the eyes of the beholder. This is evident in th high divorce rate. It's not the Women's Movement's fault, just the migration period from the old school to the new school. aka growing pains.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

The Bible was written for all peoples in all generations. Not just those who lived 2,000 years ago. And if you believe what you said then one could argue that people today cannot go to Heaven, only those who were around when the Bible was written. That is the flaw with your argument.
