before i locate a bible and grab moms biblcal research program let me get an understanding of what you are looking for. what you want is a passage that specifically says premarital sex is not good or is bad and sex within marriage is good or not bad. additionally you would like to see the same or similar translation across most or all english versions and you want both of these in the same verse. correct? are separate verses addressing each ok?
i'd almost swear i read something about this in proverbs, but i have to check to be sure. i am kinda busy right now but i will see what i can find in the next week or so.

Yes, search for Text (in at least two or more translations) that says that "pre-marital sex" is bad. This is what the Church is spewing out and it boils over into government. As for the Genesis text, God was talking to ADAM AND EVE!!!! They where the only two frickin' human beings!!! Of COURSE he was telling them to multiply!!! The whole "no birth control" really bugs me because it means that the only use for sex is for makin' da babies. What the hell is an ORGASM for??????? I don't know about some people, but I do like my daily dose of endorphines. Without birth control, you either have 50 some-odd kids, or you have two married individuals that are fairly frustrated and quite sad (for no damn reason!) Get snipped, use the pill, slip on a jimmiecap, and go to town! If she still gets preggo, then there's a sign that God meant for you to have a baby anyway! Of course, lots of prayer and really good ears also helps you to figure out what God wants you to do with your life (and future others)

To play devil's advocate...
[Frank discussion to follow, children turn away]
One of my friends (a female) actually just wrote a paper on the female orgasm (for a class... why didn't I take that class??).
Some scientists hold that the motions of the vagina during orgasm serve to massage the penis and further stimulate it to bring about orgasm (and thus releasing sperm). So certain research maintains that the female orgasm was a naturally selected evolutionary development to ensure ejaculation.
However, I do vehemently disagree with Catholicism's blanket rejection of birth control. As has been pointed out numerous times, education and promotion of condom usage would GREATLY help the AIDS epidemic in Africa, as well as would help to ease population overcrowding and poverty problems around the world if these "good catholic families" weren't "accidentally" having 14 kids.
In fact, a lot of Catholicism doesn't really make sense to me... I guess thats why I'm not a Catholic.

Hightower, you bring up an interesting point. "Orgasm" and ejaculation are actually two different functions happening simulataneously. In one of the books I've recently read it expands on how to separate these two functions basically allowing for the actual ejaculation to be stored up as a function of reproduction only whereas orgasm can be reached again and again. More or less it's a study based in Toaism. In regards to the main question posted 3 pages back, there have been some very good points brought up in regards to our origins of settlement versus the way our society has turned to relying on sex to sell. My take on everything is that sex gets a bad rap because it's easy to sensationalize. It makes for popular media coverage on slow news days and we as a society continue to feed on that coverage. On the other hand I don't feel there is enough being done to promote healthy relationships overall including healthy sexual relationships. I would think with our divorce rate and the main problems listed for divorce being money or sexual issues that the church is failing to properly address these issues. To continue on with teachings of impropriety and immorality is like sticking your head in the sand. I'm not saying the churches should be promoting porn or anything of that nature, but a sermon or two geared towards how to explore healthy sexuality with your partner would get me interested in going back. As far as my own personal experience goes, those of you that have been around the boards for a number of years will most likely remember that I've been close to divorce and worked hard to get our marriage back on track and to the point it's at today. There is definitely something to be said about teaching people how to communicate and explore in a fun and exciting manner. As a subnote, as a few members are aware, my wife and I are currently looking into a new project that will hopefully do our part in contributing to furthering the education and exploration of couples on this subject, wish us luck Rick

Well I would not be caught dead in any church that teaches contrary to what the Bible says. And if a church taught how to explore with a partner who is not your spouse they would be doing just that.

That's fine by me Tim. But, if church is meant to be fostering healthy marriages, then how would you propose church deals with the issue of divorce when it deals with sex, sexual disfunction, cheating, etc, etc. Considering our current divorce rate in the country, I don't want to hear how they're currently approaching it or have in the past because to me it's not working.
