the pros run smaller diameter rims and larger width tires on the fwd track cars. Also, on rwd drag cars the rim is small in comparison to the aspect of the rubber. That allows for more rubber to flex and grip the pavement. Reducing the tire pressure will also help with this. Because of the traction they get from this, often the tires are bolted right to the rim to prevent spinning the rims within the tires. I don't think anyone on this site will have to worry about that though
