i am aware of this problem, rara and i discussed it over the weekend. i wouldn't go with a 2-3 inch flare. but before i make any decisions i need to know the amount of travel the spring does so i know how much clearance the wheel needs. maybe extending it an inch or so could be possible. There are more problems that enter in if you increase the wheel base too much... rara has been a really big help with this...

suspension wear being one of them I think for a matter of an inch extension, it would be better to get a kit that doesn't have extensions made (since more people would be likely to buy it) and then if you want them, see if you could get a set of extensions molded to fit. I would only go to that much trouble for at least 2" though. Anyways here are some quick pics of a saleen type bumper with no flare. current wheels are 6.5 inches wide right? what would be so bad about using a 7.5 or 8 inch wide wheel? I think that would add more tire to the ground with little to no cutting needed.. again i need to know spring movement before i can determine anything. if anyone has this it would really be appreciated... i am gonna post something in the Wheel & Tire Section.

Bret, Rather than cutting into the fender and in order to maintain a decent amount of the Saleen wide body look a smaller flush mount fender flare might be a feasible option. It could be mounted in the same fashion as those for example mounted on a Dodge Dakota Sport.. Something of the sort would mount easily also with nothing more than a few hex screws mounted in the existing rivet locations with a 3m backing to adhere in the same manor as our body moldings. Wheel offset wouldn't be of major concern with a smaller flare and with even stock rims the kit would still look decent.

would be interested in getting in on this? in this situation would you pay up front so that you can make the molds? how long would it take for the whole process, such as making the molds and distributing to those who purchased it? please let me know, am very interested.

(I'm not sure, but since people rub on the outside, the tire can go at least as far out as the fender lip is before rolling.) So you could put the fender lip on, but the wheels would be inboard a little compared to the fender.

i heard wheel spacers eat your suspension.
mrshmathrs - once i get enough people i expect to have them out to people in no more then 16 weeks, less time if they don't need to be painted of course. and i will need 50% of the money now and then another 50% before they ship.
