Hi,
A few weeks ago i was confronted about building a turbo kit for a local contour svt owner. Me and a friend have been doing some fabrication/turbo kits on the side as we have time (both have full time jobs, just enjoy the hobby )
I have built turbo kits on probe GT's, and a few hondas. I came to the board looking to see what kind of support you guys have, turbo kit wise. Does any company make a kit of good quality?
If there was enough intrest, we could possibly make more than one set. We dont do this for a living, and dont do it to get rich by any means. Prices would more than likely beat any other companies pricing for other kits. Basically i came onto the board to see what others have done. I dont like to do things twice, so learning from what other people have done in the past sometimes makes the fabrication job a lot easier
I also came on to see how something such as a reasonably priced turbo kit, or maybe even just turbo piping, would strike you guys?
Thanks

more pics of the piping would be good, if possible. fabbing that is probably the main PITA about the whole thing. bend, test, fit, bend, test, fit, repeat, repeat, repeat.
i feel building up a DIY turbo would be easier if you could get the piping from someone, then add as you go and can afford. keeping it budget would have to include some way of using the stock manifolds or MSDS. warmonger can chime in one that one, as could Blackwidow, and maybe stilov? water injection is also a cheaper and more easily added afterwards than intercooling.

If they are a shop that has done fabrication why do they NEED to copy other people's work???
Fabricating the pipes is simple work. They better be able to do that on their own. That's the easiest part of the project!

I might be interested. I'd like a super/turbocharger, but I'm not about to spend more for a kit at ADC than I spent on my car itself.

That's gay. So you bought a junker for under $5k and want to turbo it. Yeah, I'm sure that car is gonna LOVE you boosting it and nothing stock will break. If you think you can slap a turbo on these cars with ZERO other mods and think it'll last your dreaming. The ADC kit is QUALITY - yes lets go over than word again because it's very important QUALITY. A kit for less than that is going to be compromised - no way around that. Their kit is comprehensive - uses only QUALITY parts - comes with a chip tuned for your car so it runs right and produces numbers that people with homemade kits can only dream of beating. You f'en newbies are clueless!

Cheap power = Nitrous! With a ~75 shot on a relatively stock motor, have similar HP gains as a Supercharger and a LOT more TQ. Get yourself a ZEX kit for ~$500, NGK TR66 spark plugs and you're ready to go. Spend a little bit more and get the car on a dyno to check your AFR. Mark
