can u just install the focus tower and not need the plate to install it. is this a better feeling shifter than the short shifter from custom cougars or the b&m. any info on that

Search around. A lot of posts on the subject. Basically...
-theres your normal shifter -the B&M is the same but about 2 inches shorter(?) and that provides the shorter throw. -steeda is called the only "true" short throw shifter. -ebay ones are covered in stickies.
Change to the entire focus tower? I dont know if you can as ive never seen one, but why would you want to? It would rise up the cost too much to where it wouldnt be worth it. If your hesitant about the whole plate thing...its as easy as taking 4 bolts out and putting them back on. Yes literally its that easy.
