Ok so I got the urge to drop some coin and buy ANOTHER car, (will be 4 now). So I started looking at Rx7's, I looked at a 93 RX7 TT with 73 k for 14,000. Needs to be repainted on the front otherwise nice car, down pipe has been replaced. So then I started looking at older cars.. (love a fixer upper) saw a 88 Rx7 Turbo Special 10th Anniversary, perfect exterior and out, lots of mods.. guys asking 7200 way to high but maybe I can talk him down. Then I saw on Autotrader a Porche 951 Turbo with 78K for $5900 car looked real good. I have never heard of a 951 so anyone wants to shed light let me know. Also a 91 Eclipse GSX with 136K for $850, needs head work.. (more than I may want to get into) If i get anything else other than the 93 RX7 I can keep my Contour...so what do you guys think? Or should I look into something else? 3000GT vr4.

Ryan,

No doubts about it, if you are looking for bang for the buck performance and TONS of Mod options. Aftermarket parts like no other car in the world.......... Well, I have to say there is only one car to consider....... Not that I am biased or anything but.....

OK you beat it out of me.... 90-94 Mustang GT or LX. wink Can be had for 1-5k depending on miles and condition. You can spend a few thousand have a really nice FAST car for cheap. Parts are cheap and VERY plentiful unlike the RX7. Not to knock the RX, as they are also a fine car. laugh

Just my .02

Cheers,

I've met a few 3rd gen RX-7 owners and one has a very nice stock car. The other non-stock people wish they would have left it alone except intake, downpipe, and exhaust. Seem to have driveability issues when they go beyond that.

Bang4buck=fox body...also bang4buck=VR4 Galant but i don't know how the aftermarket is on those.

If you don't care about having the prettiest car in town then go with the fox body. Don't get me wrong that unrefined american muscle look is great but its not "smooth". The 5.0 in any way shape or form is one heck of a modable car. They respond like crazy to mods unlike our beloved mystiques.

I was afraid thats what I was going to hear, I like mustangs don't get me wrong, but everybody has got one. The RX7 has the picking up girls factor but then again do I want to spend that kind of money... so many choices..sheesh

I've heard this from that most is not all RX7 Twin turbos have had their motors rebuilt by 40K...

I'm not an expert it's something you need to look in to. You don't want to buy a car and then have to put 4k into it.
