Well, anything must be better than the General AmeriG4s that are on the car. They're loud and traction isn't that great...

i will be needing replacement tires for my original equipment eagle +4's this summer. but a big weekend sale at sears may push me to replace sooner.
stock ls wheels, 2.5, atx '98 mystique.
thanks in advance.......lakeside
Liked them alot, good grip, etc. They did not last very long though. I just replaced them with something with longer tread life.
As a performance tire, they were great ! I'm too poor for performance tires...

Interesting... The guy at sears said the goodyear tire would have better traction...
Lakeside, did you get 'em?? How do they compare to the Eagle GT+4's...
My car came with the +4's and they were an awesome tire. Plenty of grip, wet or dry.

Now I know you are wack. )
For one. "Of Course" the guy at Sears is going to tell you the tire he sells is better. It certainly is not though.
For two the GT+4's SUCK. They are hockey pucks. Plain and simple. They have decent tread life but they are definitely not even a mid level performance tire. There are far better choices then that.

i have the falken ziex ze512 tires on all four of my stock 15" on my Stique. I've only had them on for about 2 or 3 weeks and so far I love them. Got them at sears for a great price. No complaints....

got'em up this pm, will mount tomorrow at my auto mechanics place(the perils of living 3 hrs from a sears auto center and having limited time today in nashville).
when i picked up this car in aug '04, it had 25k miles (!) and the gt+4's on it. i presume they are the oe tires. they were on their last legs, hence the falkens.
i'll let you know my impressions......lakeside

warmonger Did you get any excessive noise at highway speed 70 to 80. I was told by sales person that they were buzzy. This was his personal expierence after 7 or 8000 miles on a low profile tire. Highways are both concrete and asphalt here. Most reviews I have read seemed to say they were quite but I am not sure if these were higher milege or lower profile. Did you notice any buzzing on the 215/45/17 size after they were worn in.

very adequate for the type driving this car does. understand that they were probably at 25% or less tread remaining when i picked the car up. and although i only put 3000 miles on in the year since, when this sale came up, it was time to change all 4.
the falken's went on this am. i can already feel a difference old to new- but they are obviously not broken in yet. end of the month i go to columbus ga with the 'stique- then we'll see.
