Looking for suggestions here. I probably need new wheels as one of my tires was leaking, and I could only find a leak where it seals to the wheel. I pulled the tire off and put it back on, hoping maybe it will seal better, but I think the wheel is cracked or bent. So I'm most likely going to buy new wheels. In order of importance, here is what I'm looking for.
1.Affordability
2.Best performance (light weight and good traction)
3.Size:16"s preffered, 17"s or 15"s acceptable

Does dunlop or goodyear make any good performance tires? I can get a discount on them. Thanks.

The Goodyear GS-D3s are great tires, but it depends on what kinda discount you can get on them as to whether or not they'll be inexpensive.

If you really want to go fast as hell: Azenis. Wear fast, not great in standing water, greasy when really hot, but they stick and are pretty cheap.

If you want great dry/wet traction and decent treadwear/price, go with the ZRi. Sticky, awesome in water, and dirt cheap. Like Kuhmo 712s or Yoko AVS ES100s, only better all-around.

If you can get a good deal, Goodyear makes some of the best tires out there, but they have appropriate prices. The Eagle F1 GS-D3 is possibly the best all-around street tire on the planet: expect to pay around $150 per tire.

The Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position is very popular among the Miata clan because it's an ultra-sticky summer that comes in smaller sizes (15s). It will stick as well as anything short of an R-compound Hoosier.

If you can get the GS-D3 for less, I'd probably go with the Goodyear.

I absolutely love my Toyo T1-S's that I order from EdgeRacing.com. They take VERY good care of me (both the site and tires).
As far as wheels I would recommend some 17x7.5" wheels from a reputable company. I have three sets and I may be selling one at Carlisle this weekend. Don't know yet, I'll have pics later.

Nitto NT555, they have great grip and are very well priced, my 225/40/zr18's were only like 115 each.

17" REV wheels are almost all $115/each.

225/45/17 Dunlop Super Sport Race tires are $116/each.

That's a full set of 17" lightweight wheels and badass tires for under $1,000!!!

I got my S-03s are great. They have almost amazing traction in the dry and wet. They are fairly expensive though and wear pretty quickly.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I can also get deals on certain wheels, so I'm checking that out first. Right now, I'm leaning towards REV X with fuzion zri, but if I can get a better deal on something else at work, then I'm gonna go with something else. Thanks everyone.
