I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say factory systems are "souround sound", more so, the rear decklid is utilized in a souround sound set-up. Just like a home entertainment theatre, if you are using a 5.1 or even 6.1 system, you configuration will include a subwoofer that is offset from your central location like the tv (trunk space in the car), a center channel directed from the tv (or dash board), and then you 4 remaining components speakers at 45 degrees in each direction JUST ABOVE your line of hearing (rear decklid being two of those spots and usually a q-form directing the front 2 at an extreme upward direction.)
