I suggest some of us have problems with the way Iraq is being handled precisely because we have passion for the US of A.

I'm afraid that would put you in the minority... it seems that most of the people on your side have problems with the way Iraq is being handled because they have some sort of illogical vendetta against Bush ("the illegitimate president ). If it were truly love and pride for our country then fine, but idiots like Soros, Moore, and the "anybody but Bush crowd completely discredit the majority of the left's arguments.

FWIW if by "your side" you mean people who question/research the factors and details governing the Iraq strategy, then I'm proud to be part of that "group." I'm not necessarily against the war overall.
Also FWIW while many of Moore's assertions can be refuted, many have merit.
As far as "sides" go, I suggest those who dismiss the Iraq campaign based on their dislike of Bush are no worse than those who don't question any of it based on their support for him.

this was a good thread with many good points by caltour, pdx, and a few others on how the bush admin juiced up or ââ?¬Ë?fixedââ?¬â?¢ intelligence information to overstate the immediacy and urgency with which we needed to liberate iraq from saddam, crush the development/threat of nuclear weapons/wmds, and destroy ties to al qaeda. i guess 1 out of 3 isnââ?¬â?¢t that bad considering the other two were never there to begin with.
it was funny to see jatos mindless groupies soak up his responses as if it were scripture. lol @ you all. he made some good points as there was some legitimacy to the threat by saddam (which was mostly tough talk and posturing), but this was definitely a show of force more than it was a genuine effort to eradicate wmds and ties to terrorism. to jatos harem: you fond ladies better hope he keeps his sanity cause if dude says the world is coming to an end and everyone should jump off a cliff to transcend to the heavens, then 70% of you will probably be in a messy pile at the bottom of some mountain. lol.
at some point in our life time there will be (more) evidence to shed light on the war in iraq for what it was. a complete sham, vendetta, and political bullying by the bush admin. all im hoping for at this point is that we dont suffer the failures of regime change in iraq down the road. i think the iraq situation can be overcome, but it is a very deep sh!thole to crawl out of.

I see the liberal "enlightenment" tank for this week has run dry.

old buddy jato. i gave up trying to enlighten you neo-cons several moons ago. all that's left to discuss here is the speculation on when the bush admin's 'deep-throat' will come forward. i'm sure it will be much more damaging than nixon's or clinton's 'deep-throat'.

Unfortunately, you probably hope that something like that will happen. What does it say about your side if bad news for the United States is good news for you?

my side? i'm a US citizen. our side wants only the best for our country. if that means exposing a sham from a self-centered admin to discourage future shams then so be it.
btw..bad news for the US is if iraq is unable to stabilize.
