hahahh nonono I have ductaped the imrc box to the heatshield. that way they stay cool and i never have the intermited shuting when they get hot. I am on my 3rd imrc box. Stock shorted out in the stock location, and would pin the imrc open as soon as i turned the key on. A local friend gave me his off his 97 that had the classic fluttering ounce they got hot. Ran that with the imrc bock relocated to the heatshield and they worked flawlessly for 2 years. Untill the clip that connects the cable to the secondaries broke. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif) So i traded my old stock flywheel for another used imrc box that had the same problem as before. Ounce again i relocated it and they work perfect. So needless to say im a strong supporter of relocating the box. witch is one of those things Demon was doing and noone else. that was back in the days when he actualy still used them

Yeah Ray, I like reading your posts and I think I won't even have to search after that one. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif) Now I know how secondaries really work. Seriously, I'm glad you take the time. Most people won't.

I, for one, know you know how they REALLY work, but we both knew that! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) I know there are a ton of other things that could have been explained or added in, but for the question at hand, it served its purpose. Seriously, though, thanks.. Its always nice to hear that from other "well established" members. Ray

Cool beans ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif) I like to think of it as teamwork. All those who have time on their hands and don't mind helping people, they all get on the same sheet of music and provide that information.

BTW I will take this time to thank Tom for explaining how to properly re-assemble the secondaries on my SVT LIM. I would've drilled that ish out had he not told me diff. He might recall what I am speaking of.

Oh yeah! Thanks for the thanks and for reminding me. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif)
That's a total of 3 times in 5 years that I've been thanked for my help....better than a poke in the eye.
I'm really glad I could help. Must have been one of those nights when I was drinking. I'm a lot more helpful on those nights, my wife lets me drink because I'm normally a perfectionist when I'm sober....and laid back when I'm buzzed. She likes that better.
Normally I just ignore the Duratec Perf. and Maint. Sec because it is the same questions over and over and sometimes I just get tired of it. Therefore I hang out in 3L and FI forums. If you ever have pressing issue about performance and I don't pop up, jump in the 3L forum since any duratec question still applies to the 3L.

You have secondaries, but they are controlled by vacuum, yes.

They also are reverse in set point.
Normal rest point is open and the vacuum diaphragm causes them to close. (when the engine is running of course)
