have you ever watched it (or any other DVD) with an HDMI connection?

Saving Private Ryan is a TOTALLY different movie on an HDMI connected HD screen!

I disagree.

The PQ is a total reflection of the DVD player's ability (or inability) to upconvert to an HD signal.

99% of progressive DVD players only output at 480P. (dual scan 480 lines)

99% of upscaling DVD player runs a POS upscaling chip or bios.
The ones that have quality processors are mega dollars. (besides the original "un-patched" Zenith DVB-318 which upscaled via the Farouda through all 3 ports!)

Also depending on what type of HD TV you have you could be converting the signal 2-4 times before it reaches the screen even. Every time you convert it hurts the end PQ.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
