It doesn't prove that at all! I had 2.5L heads on my 3L for over two years without a problem.
In my opinion its that fuggin 0w and 5w oils that allow it to spin. I have never run thinner than a 10w-30 oil and usually run a 10w-40 oil, and even run 20w50 on the non-turbo engine form in deep summer. I've abused my engines all times of the year as much as anyone and I've yet to spin a bearing.
I am really starting to think it is the oil viscosity and the tight clearances on these engines.
