I honestly think it's an issue with the rubber on the Microedge Excel's getting cut way too quickly from small stuff like pollen and road dirt. I remember the rubber on the original MicroEdge being much more durable and a bit thicker too.
I'm thinking of going back and giving the originals a shot. Hell, it's only money
