I honestly think it's an issue with the rubber on the Microedge Excel's getting cut way too quickly from small stuff like pollen and road dirt. I remember the rubber on the original MicroEdge being much more durable and a bit thicker too. I'm thinking of going back and giving the originals a shot. Hell, it's only money

I got my Ancos at Walmart. $4 each. I bought the cheap generic wiperblades from Walmart before, and one decided to break off and snap at 75 mph on the interstate, at 3am coming back from NYC. I had to drive at 15mph w/ my head out the window getting rained on till I got to the nearest Walmart and could get a replacement. Not fun. I have a set of Anco summers, and a set of Anco winters, both seem to work good for the price.

Picked up some Rain-X blades at Pepboys last night. So far they're doing really well. The rubber seems to be better and the bottom edge doesn't hop like with the Bosch blades. We'll see how they work out.

My G/F has had them on her focus for about 8 months now, went through a harsh salty MI winter, tons of rain, 1 episode of "mud bogging", and they are still REALLY good.

You let your G/F go mud bogging in a Focus!?!? Granted, I have had this little fantasy for years about rallying out the Contour

I've had a set of the Bosch Micro Edge Excel (I think that's what they're called...a step up from the reg. Micro Edge) on my car for a bit over a month. Anyway, so far they've worked flawlessly. Then again I do clean my windows several times a week since this time of year pollen is everywhere and it's rained so much (water spots). Oh, and all the bird crap from the family of birds who decided to reside in the roof of our neighbor's house and feel the need to crap all over our driveway where I park. Either way the Micro Edge's so far have been pretty good for the price.

I love the Micro-Edge Excels... I do notice a little streaking when there isn't much water on the windshield, but they're the best I've used in most situations (including they don't ice up as quickly as most and shed the ice easily).

It must be a family thing. My mother and I end up with crazy streaks after only a few weeks with the Micro-edge.
Anyway, I've been using the RainX wipers in torrential rain for the past 2 weeks and I absolutely love 'em so far.
