Ford said wait until it won't start at all. We've no idea if it's the starter or the fly wheel.

does it sound like the car is already started when you try to start? cuz mine does that on occasion (like once every 3-5 months)

The first time it happened that was my first reaction. I thought that the car was already started. It sounds like something is spinning VERY FAST without the engine reacting at all. Is this the starter or the flywheel. My instinct says starter? Any thoughts? I hope it is the starter. it does not happen all of the time just on occasion a this point (fingers crossed...)

Clunking is usually attributed to the sway bar stabalizer links. I replaced them in my wife's car last week and clunking has gone away. Also the new links are an updated design.

Don't forget to look at the Lower Control Arms as well..

Hey i was taking easy out there. Usually at these events I push it somewhat...not too hard and then i will go out on one session and tear it up. This past weekend I never really went out there to tear it up. It was the second of two back to back events so I wanted to make sure i did not stress the beast too much.

I usually make sure I lay down a hot session just as some of the Cobra owners think they can hang with me on the track

LOL

Cheers Fern

I've had the same thing happen since the Fidanza flywheel install too and at about the same frequency. It's as if you've got the car running already when you start it.

I've read a few other similar posts with people having the flywheel ... the teeth aren't lining up properly on occassion it seems??

Hey Coatsy was what you described occuring with stock gear or with a Fidanza?

Lou have you "inspected" yours to see if it is the flywheel? Is there a way to fix this or to properly insepct it?

This is great info... please keep it coming.

thx

Fern

Been there done that. I have checked everything on the sway, bushing, end links, etc. etc. This is hte only thing I havn't checked. Even the dealer wasnt sure what it was either. I do need new bushing in the rear though I Have a clunk there too but that is what it is eventually I will get that fixed.
