ya I may be a little nuts but..... (crappy camera phone pic) It's an '03 Kawasaki ZX-6R 636. It's a blast to ride, fast. But since it's my first street bike ( I know), it's gonna take some time to get used to it. Respect it, and ride in my comfort level, and it's great. You weren't thinking I sold the SRT, did ya?!?!?!

That's HOTTTT, I almost got the 2001 version of that bike right after christmas, but my dad convinced me other wise. In two years though, I think that is gonna be the bike I'm gonna get!

I'm getting my motorcycle license in 2 weeks, and plan on just getting a beater for a few years. I'm not quite going to jump into the bigger cc's like you though. I'm not saying it's a stupid decision, I've just heard from many very experienced friends that the best way to really learn how to ride is to start on a small bike, learn how to handle and mess with it, then just upgrade your way up to the larger cc's. They tell me that through this progression, the skill level between a rider on a 1,000 cc bike that progressed through bikes, rather than just starts on a bike over his level, is night and day. But either way, SWEET bike!

well, the riders that I talked to said the smaller bike is a good idea. But then within a few weeks you'll want a bigger one. So, just start on something a bit bigger, the 1000cc are no way for starters. 600cc's are ok, if you respect what it can do. Going from 600cc to 1000cc is a big change that will take a few years to make.

I was looking hard at a new Triumph Daytona 650. But the price I got this one for was too good to pass up.

the daytona is one of the best looking bikes on the road. almost enough for me to look past the fact that is lacking something compared to its japanese counterparts.
edit: this thread needed more pics
