I know that. I have never seen one where the pressure is differnt between rear and front on a Contour.

On the sticker on my door says that for a certain tire size (can't remember it off-hand) the front should be 31PSI and the back should be 34PSI.

With my Contour V-6 ATX I got 32mpg on the way back from picking up the car in Georgia. My first trip to the Dragon I averaged 28mpg under very aggressive driving conditions in the Smokey Mountains. The return home first tank I got 33 mpg, the next tank, 31 mpg IIRC. My car was stock except for a SuperChip & modded Y pipe. If you've got headers, a free flowing exhaust, & a good intake, I can see getting a few extra mpg on a tank or two - especially with the cruise control on.

I don't know what combination of conditions makes it happen, but I suspect the mix design of the fuel I was getting had a lot to do with it. I get CRAP mileage here in Florida, typically about 22mpg mixed driving.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I got around 35 also on my way back. I didn't believe it at first but after calculating it a couple times and getting the same answer it was great. 75 MPH interstate driving the entire way, didn't touch the brakes once. Too bad that will be short lived.

Yeah I've been doing a lot more rural interstate driving the last couple months, averaging 70-80 MPH. I've gone from around 300 miles a tank to 350 at times.

Plus I think my secondaries are no longer working. Probably helps with fuel consumption. Hurts the fun though.

I took a trip to VA Beach last week, kept the cruise set to about 70MPH, and got 200 miles by the time the gas gauge showed 1/3 empty. Then I did some area/city driving and then ran another 90 or so miles back up the interstate in traffic, and ended up with about 28MPG. I usually get in the 20-22MPG range in my normal weekly slog here, but I also don't take it that easy on the throttle.

I got 30+ MPG with the turbo consistently during my last 900 mile trip to the Bay Area at 80 MPH average. Did not even use cruise control!
