I sat there for an hour looking at a half tooth differance, scratching my head afraid to put it together. It runs ok but how much will a half tooth afect preformence? Will VCT compensate? Makes me want to go back in to make sure. Been watching mileage changes and power band. 28-31mpg (HWY) sound right? and about 3500RPMs she starts to pull you into the seat. This is the only Contour I ever drove so not sure how well mine should preform?

Yeah I had the same thing happen to me, made me sorta feel a compulsion to check it too.

Than like a day or so after I fixed it I got a CEL, and I was sorta afraid to find out what the heck was wrong, it wasn't related but it scared me for a little.

What I wanna know is what benefit does VCT give us 98+ owners? Is the powerband different than the pre-98 tours? It seems like something must be different or ford wouldn't have bothered. Of course you can't apply logic to that actions of large businesses.
