i thought that the stock time (with a decent driver) for a 95 se with a mtx is 7.7. That is what the main part of this site says and I have read that in a few other places too. Is that right or wrong then?

Wow, everyone shifts so high, I shift at 2500...mostly because it feels right for the engine, and in the owners manual, it says you should shift out of 3rd at 32MPH, which on my tach is 2500RPMs....but maybe I'm just stupid.

According to THIS WEBSITE mine does it in under 5 seconds.

Who am I to argue...

6.73 for my 0-60 time! That site rocks!

Jesus, you drive that sucker HARD!

Well, perhaps. But it's not like that's foot to the floor, powershifting driving. I ease my way way up, moderate throttle, especially when it's cold. car is at just over 107K and still doin fine, been mine since 27K, I can't be too bad for it Plus, that's only on back roads pretty much, too many bloody SUV's and Pickups and rubber necking tourists around town, they keep me shifting at a more secondary clogging 2500-3000.

For daily driving, I shift around 3000 RPM on my 98 CSVT. If I'm taking it easy, which I try to do sometimes for better gas mileage, I'll shift a little lower, around 2500. When I'm showing off, I shift around 5500... if I remember correctly, I think the horsepower maxes out at 5400 according to the user manual, and my car is mostly stock. I was showing off just yesterday for someone who hadn't ridden in my car and I was shifting closer to 6500 because I was going up a hill. Maybe it was me, maybe it was the car, or maybe it was just the hill, but I definitely wasn't accelerating as fast as I knew I could for some reason.

ALL stock SVT engines produce maximum power at (actually just above) fuel-cutout. (6750)... shifting AT 6750, or as close as possible, will net you the faster times, and most power.

period.

No kidding. If that 95 has a perfect tune and is running at its peak performance (tough bet for a 10 year old car), you'd be lucky to break 8.
