ON average, how many rpm's do you take your contour to, i usually try to stay under 2000 cus i like to save gas, but i will give it some occasionally break it in some... lol... but really about how many rpms do you run at, and what is the 0-60 time for a sport, im guessing around 8-10

curious, how do you stay below 2,000? I shift at 3,000 and that feels soon.

IIRC the manual says to shift at like 2800-3000 for maximum fuel economy. Always feels a little early to me. I only do it that way when the wife is in the car...
2000 RPM's ? How?

When the engine's cold or I'm driving kinda slowish in traffic: 2500. Any other time, 3-4k. And this usually nets me on average 28mpg. How the hell do you shift below 2000rpm!!?

Remember, shifting too low and "crusing" at 25mph's in 4th or 5th gear is not all that cool in the car either... problems with oil pressure. It's really personal preference when you shift.
I think the ATX shifts around 2800 into 2nd.
Most MTX people shift around 3200 RPM's for maximum fuel efficiency and best acceleration in "normal" driving conditions... which seems to not exist according to some of your posts.
0-60 for your Contuour Sport MTX Duratec (I assume) is about 8.9 sec with a good driver and fast reaction time.

I shift at 4000rpm's normally anything under that sounds weird even. No wonder I get crap mileage! But I have fun doing it.

I usually shift around 3200-4000 RPM. But with my exhaust, the only way it sounds the loudest is past 3 grand...mind you its still loud below that...key word LOUDEST. Depends on if Im feelin good or not that day!
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Used to shift at around 4k, but I can easily get away with 3k since the 3L When the engine is cold I shift below 3k, when it warms up, if I'm feeling a little rushed, I'll shift around 4500. Lots of torque now, so its not a big deal to shift so soon
