Ok I need some help. I have a Sony M8800Mp headunit, Sony 6x7 in the front and Pioneer 6x8's in the back. I had the speakers running from the factory headunit and they played fine. After I installed the Sony the left speakers aren't playing...actually the front left speakers play only words(when it wants too) and the rear speaker doesn't play at all. Do you guys think its a wiring problem? or what?

check all connections/ground/etc. If all else fails just run new speaker wire from the HU to the speakers. You also may have a blown speaker/or a speaker on its way out the door.

you might want to check your wiring harness again. on mine the factory end on the premium sound(little square shaped connector that houses the speaker wires) was broken somehow, so i just ripped it apart and put the wires inside directly hooked up to my head unit's harness, worked like a charm

I'm gonna check connections today. I'll get back to you guys on what the problem is.

BTW the Sony M8800 MP is a Fantastic unit. The DSO, EQ, and Loudness features are through the roof. If anyone is up looking for a good headunit with nice graphics, excellent sound, and functionality beyond belief...give it a try. I got it off ebay for 150. Makes the car look great. Now I just gotta get the balls to get some blue LEDS in the guages and I'll be happy.

Probably wiring but could be HU. Sony sucks. My unit has buttons going out daily. Volume buttons, especially down have to be pressed a lot to get results, preset 3 is no longer functional, doesn't do anything very well except look sorta good. I look forward to getting an alpine or something worth my money.

kermit...please don't go alpine. I know people that have had them and they really aren't all that great. My g.f. had one and it sucked, another freind of mine had one and buttons stopped working after a little while and his amp (alpine) didn't work right either. I honestly think that the quality of sound from an alpine isn't all the great compaired to other units. You are going to be paying more for what used to be a a leading name in the industry but now is just like everyone else. But yes, sony does suck hard when it comes to car audio. I would never wish it on anyone that I know.
