I had thought about some kind of under the car box, but it would be way too much work making something water tight, and cutting/welding to the floor.
I'll look at some amps tonight, get some measurements and see about mounting vertically above the tire well. I still will probably end up mounting them overhead. If not drilling through the roof, then creating some sort of rack using the pillar supports on either side of the car. Remember, the truck cost me under $1000. I really couldn't care less how it looks, as long as it works and does what i need it to do.
