I was coming on my way home the other day and i went to slap it from 1st into 2nd and hit neutral! I lost pretty much all of my shifting, luckily i was only 2 blocks from home and coasted up to the driveway in 4th gear (don't know how that happened) After tearing apart the console, i realized the shift linkage fell off the shifter. It looks like this end of the cable is wore out! I popped it back on but it falls of easily. It's the cable end that mounts to the bottom of your shifter inside the car. Is this a replaceable part? I know i have found several posts concerning the cable ends that are on the transmission, but haven't found any like this. I've considered cutting the ball-pivot off the shifter and putting a bolt through both, but after watching the shifter move in and out of gears a couple times it looks like that connection on the shifter needs to pivot quite a bit. Which makes it seem like a bolt would be a bad idea.... Anyone else have similar problems or part #'s? I know i don't want to replace the shift cables but i guess i might have to... Thanks in advance

Had the same problem. I ended up putting a zip tie around the cable and the shifter as a temporary fix. It got me by until I got the new shift cable installed. You could probably be creative and weld something to the end of the ball on your shifter, that would block the linkage from coming off, but if you're going to go through all that trouble, you might as well do it right and replace the cables.
