Just in case any of you encounter this; I had a loss of power recently when I had punched the throttle. My '99 SE 2.5 has 125K on it, and it went from 100% to about 30% power. The accelerator pedal would go almost to the floor before opening the throttle. After poking around, I noticed that there is a small plastic link that connects the throttle body "cam" (I'm not sure what it's really called)to the accelerator cable "cam". One side of the link broke, disconnecting the accelerator to the throttle body. Fortunately, it still is able to open the throttle a little and I can drive it. It accelerates a little more like a VW bus now, but it will allow me to get it in for repair. I'll have to take it to a Ford dealer, as I'm sure this part is hard to find. Hopefully, they won't try to take me to the cleaners!
