I think I am going to go a little different route than what I have read most have. Most people just us black RTV to seal them, but I am gonna try to lay a small bead of the black RTV on the edge of each section. Let them dry and butt them together. Then use tie large tie wraps to secure the two sides. Finally, after the black RTV has set, I am going to go over the cut section and fill in with clear flowable silicone. This should seal up any tiny areas that do not seal.
It all sounds good in theory, so let's see if it works.
