There are economic facts that make it a pretty clear choice. Basically it all depends on whether you plan to keep the truck for a long time, or trade it in in a couple of years. Here's a calculator that can help you decide.

The other thing to think about is if you lease, you'll have to remove the mods (or pay a fee).

IMO you'll need some ground clearance if you're visiting job sites. I personally wouldn't want to take any new car onto the typical jobsite.
