Wouldn't that cut on some of the reflective light coming out?? Just a thought... But that just looks so cool! How hard was it to take the front lens off?? ------------------ Steve Chang 99 Silver SVT #196 SVT/SHO Society of West Michigan SVT Division, Treasurer, Web Designer All Mods on my Page My Mods

chris that is awesome!! your car is gonna look sweet!
i actually thought of that idea a while back, but of course i lack the balls do something like that (it requires opening the seal of the headlight!). i was wondering if someone was gonna try this...i knew it would look sweet on our contours.
xchang and mystikal35: it doesn't effect the light output (or so i believe). b/c he didn't paint the reflective part, he only painted the chrome surroundings. the part that is left unpainted is where the light reflects.
chris what paint did you use? was it really hard to open up the lights and paint them (i bet it was!)?

--Nope, it doesn't affect the lighting at all. The reflecting buckets aren't painted. --Yes, it was a MAJOR pain in the a$$ to get those front lenses off. Here are the first pictures of the job, I even took some close ups of the infamous orange reflector. Yes, I left it on. http://crush7.dyndns.org/my_contour.htm ------------------ Chris Hightower CEG Mod-SquadCEG Keychainer Contour WebChat 98.5 Contour GL Sport Some mods... More to come. DAMMIT BOY. That looks SWEEEET!!!! You're gonna have all those Dallas Contour owners thinking WTF and where can I get those! I must say that looks very "European" in a BMW sort of way. Like how the BMW lights are recessed in a black background! Once again, looks teriffic! ------------------ P. Kickass, I was always trying to convince someone to do that. I woulda done it myself, but one look at the housing told me how much of a PITA removing the lense is.
